Chronicling the rise and fame of COPE 2 and taking on the entire subject of NYC graffiti at the same time, Kings Destroy is the quintessential graffiti documentary to watch. In fact, it was this video that really got me into graffiti and the culture as a whole. We see COPE 2 doing everything that makes a writer a true king. Painting trains, stealing supplies and doing murals with some of graffiti’s most well-known legends such as PJAY, SEEN and COMET.

Style Wars

When director Tony Silver and co-producer Henry Chalfant delivered the broadcast version of their prize-winning film to PBS in 1983, the world received its first full immersion in the phenomenon that had taken over New York City. The urban landscape was physically transformed by graffiti artists who invented a new visual language to express both their individuality, and the voice of their community.
